Much to the surprise of everyone, MS Dhoni announced his retirement from International cricket bringing down the curtains on his incredible career of over 15 years as an Indian player. The cricket legend, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain of the Indian Cricket team for many years and led the team to victory several times.

After investing over 15 years of his life in cricket, MS Dhoni took everyone by surprise when he announced his retirement on Saturday evening. The cricketer announced his departure on his Instagram by sharing a video and photomontage, thanking his fans, he wrote in the caption,

Thanks. Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.”

  After the news of his retirement broke out on the internet, many Bollywood celebrities, cricketers and politicians took to their social media profiles to thank the former Indian cricket team captain for fond memories and several stars extended their good wishes to MS Dhoni.

A number of cricketers who played with this legend paid their respects to MS Dhoni and recently, Virat Kohli also took to Twitter to share a sweet note as he wrote, 

“One day all of us have to retire from our positio0ns and the time for that is fixed, but seeing our legend retiring, whom I have been so close to for so long makes me very emotional.”

Virat continued writing, “You are a role model, not just for me but for many and I have known you for such a long time, never have I met a person humble and amazing as you.  The amount of respect you have given me in these years will always remain in my heart. The Bollywood sensation and actor, Ranveer Singh took to his Instagram profile following the news of Dhoni’s retirements and shared some unseen memorable photographs of the two with a sweet long note as he wrote,

“MS is one of the greatest sportsmen to have ever lived. I’m lucky to have witnessed his playing career in my lifetime. A paragon of excellence. An icon of the sport. My hero forever.”
