POPULAR TV SHOW/ SITCOM- ‘FRIENDS’:
Friends are the most popular American sitcom that was released on NBC on September 22, 1994, and ended on May 6, 2004. The show had a total of 10 seasons and was directed by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. The show became very popular and has a very high rating. It is watched by many people to this date and is still a source of income for the cast.
It became one of the most popular sitcoms of all time and had a total of 236 episodes. For the brilliant performances and great script, the show was nominated many times and also won many awards. It won Primetime Emmy Awards four times, 14 Screen Actors Guild Awards (won twice), 10 Golden Globe Awards (one time), and People’s Choice Awards (won 11 times).
The show, Friends basically revolves around the lives of six very close friends that live in Manhattan and how they face many adventures and troubles together. The show is on a very lighter note and is extremely hilarious. In other words, it’s therapeutic.
The cast members of the show are Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.
FRIENDS REUNION:
After a very long break of many years, Friends cast was all set for a reunion this year in May, on HBO Max Debuted. As soon as the news was released, the fans started going crazy with excitement as they were impatiently waiting for it to happen for a very long time so this news was a treat to them. Sadly, due to the ongoing pandemic, Coronavirus, the shooting was delayed and the release was postponed accordingly. This news was very disappointing for the fans.
Despite the delay, the cast is still super excited to be back on the stage for one more time for the fans after this long and are all set to set the stage on fire in their reunion.
THE CO-CREATOR, MARTA KAUFFMAN’S INTERVIEW WITH THE WRAP:
After the news of the delay in the reunion, the fans were pretty bummed about the fact that the reunion is not happening anytime soon now because of the pandemic. To clear the air and lift up the fan’s mood, the co-creator of Friends, Marta Kauffman told in her interview with The Wrap that the shooting is delayed momentarily and will be hopefully resumed in August if the situation stays under control and the studios are open.
The reunion will have all the same cast as before and the same co-creators, Marta Kauffman and David Krane.
After years, since the show ended, this is the first time the cast came back together to shoot another one of their specials and they couldn’t be more excited about it. The shooting of the reunion will happen on the same stage, Stage 24 of the Warner Bros, on which the shooting of the famous 10 seasons took place.
HBO MAX’S CHIEF CONTENT OFFICER, KEVIN REILLY SAID:
According to the Chief Content Officer, Kevin Reilly, the title of the reunion would be, ‘The One Where They Get Back Together’! He also said that he found out about the show when very early in its making and since then he has been a part of it and feels lucky to be a member of such an amazing show.
Many details related to the Friends Reunion haven’t been revealed yet, but the cast is posting pictures and talking about it on their social media accounts out of excitement.
COURTENEY COX’ EXCITEMENT ON THE ‘FRIENDS REUNION’:
Right after the announcement was made about the reunion, Cox expressed her infinite excitement on the YouTube series, Hiking With Kevin in February. She said that she couldn’t be more excited for this reunion to happen as it will give us all a chance to get back together and have fun and relive all the moments we have enjoyed together.
Cox also said that this experience is going to be amazing with a shadow of doubt and she can’t wait for it to happen.
LEBLANC SHARED HIS REACTION ON ‘FRIENDS REUNION’, WITH KELLY CLARKSON:
In an interview with Kelly Clarkson, the cast member of Friends, Matt LeBlanc shared his reaction saying that he is very excited to be working with old friends again. He also said that this will be a great opportunity for the whole gang to get back together once again and have fun.
He also said that it’s going to be more about old friends having fun together by reliving old moments, and less of working on a project.
LISA KUDROW’S STATEMENT ON THE REUNION:
Lisa Kudrow shares her feelings about the reunion in a very heartfelt statement. She expressed in an interview how happy she is on them getting back together. Kudrow talks about how they enjoyed every moment of that show. They laughed and cried together and lived every single moment and reunion means that they will get to live those memories once again.
She said that they might have forgotten many moments and scenes from the show but the fans remember every bit of it and they keep reminding all of it to them.
ANISTON’S TAKE ON THE ‘FRIENDS REUNION’:
In an interview with Variety, in June 2020, Aniston said that the reunion series or episode does not have a proper script. Instead, it would be like a free show of just them friends sitting together and talking to each other.
She also said that she’s very excited about the whole reunion thing.
DAVID SCHWIMMER’S INTERVIEW WITH THE E! NEWS:
Schwimmer said in an interview with the E! News that he is more excited about being together with his friends again and sharing the stage with them. He also said that coming back to that stage where they shot 236 episodes of that Tv show is going to bring back so many old memories and there is no better way to relive those memories than the reunion itself and that too with the same people.
In his appearance in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, David revealed that the reunion is going to be more about the cast members sitting together and talking, along with some elements of surprise.
JENNIFER’S STATEMENT ON THE ‘FRIENDS REUNION’ BEING POSTPONED:
Recently in August, the cast announced that the reunion is being postponed again. Aniston said that they are very sad about the reunion being postponed again but this is for sure not a very safe time to shoot the reunion in a studio packed with a bunch of people because of the ongoing pandemic.
To lift up the mood of the fans, she furthermore said, ‘On the bright side, it is an opportunity for them to add some more interesting things in the reunion that people are going to love’. She also said that they are definitely coming back and that the fans shouldn’t be sad because they will never get rid of their favorite show, Friends.
