According to the section 13 of the Act, the owners of works like drama, music, arts, literary works, sound recordings, and cinematographic films, had complete control over their content and were given the right to decide what to do if someone steals their content. Section 57 of the Act:
Section 57 primarily focused on ownership of the content. According to this section the artists can claim complete ownership of their work so that their content can not be stolen or leaked for a matter of fact. And also to prevent pirating websites from modifying or changing their work or doing any such thing that can cause harm to their content and make it lose its credibility.
THE CINEMATOGRAPH ACT, 2019:
This Act was passed recently in 2019, in order to deal with the issues related to piracy and the websites involved in this act. This Act, when passed, can protect the original content of the artist, can set a foundation to demolish piracy, and help maintain the integrity and credibility of original content.
Section 6AA:
There were several sections included in this Bill. One of them being Section 6AA, which stated,
“If any person contravenes the provisions of Section 6AA, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 3 years or with fine which may extend to 10 lakh rupees or with both.”
These two acts brought a lot of betterment and succeeded in reducing the act of piracy to some extent.
