Since the breakout of the global pandemic everything just began to rush; lockdown, isolation, quarantine, economic downfall, and much more, but now things are getting better and actually beginning to normalize.

This is a great leap for New York as one of the first music is launched on the physical venue. The producers are making all the required changes to make sure it remains safe for everyone by following the health precautions.

VMAs 2020; VMAs Host Keke Palmer took all the precautions 

Keke Palmer is the host for the VMAs 2020 MTV’s annual music awards, has gone through all the safety changes for the COVID-19 pandemic. Palmer herself claimed that she has gone through 10 COVID-19 tests, with constant testing after every two days.

Palmer said she wasn’t sure that she was the first choice to host the show or the only brave one do conduct it during COVID-19. She also appreciated the people in the pandemic that helped us survive, those handling deliveries to house-bound customers or the grocery store workers to the medical staff, each had a vital role.

Safety measures taken for the VMAs 2020 MTV’s music video award live performance after the pandemic 

VMAs 2020 MTV’s music video award is not going to any ordinary award show like the events previous shows. The show is featured outside with limited or probably no live audience. The producers have made sure to follow all the health preventions so that everyone remains safe & healthy.

This live performance from music singers is one of the biggest annual events on the awards calendar. This is gonna be the entertainment we all need now to get relax from this pandemic situation. It was announced that the event will also pay tribute to frontline medical workers.

Throughout the show, the performances were present on the stage while they seem to appear from a digitally generated balcony. The award show went as usual and the winners received their awards personally and delivered videos of award acceptance. It was announced previously that the award ceremony will take place at numerous outdoor locations throughout New York City.

Presenters and performers were seen walking through the backstage and wearing masks and maintaining social distance. The award also featured three more awards for making the best video from home, best quarantine performance, and best tribute performance for the frontline heroes’ working day & night. 

Lady Gaga accepts the inaugural MTV Tricon Award

The Lady Gaga was frequently seen accepting awards in person, wearing different outfits along with unique fashionable masks. Her masks with different styles included the one with a digital display that seem to change color through her medley performance, another with a silver grill, and one with horns.

Gaga said that since we are separated it may seem less alive in some sort, but the change is coming back, and soon the rage of art will inspire and empower us. Gaga and Maluma were both accompanied by dancers wearing face masks.

Performing and presenting

The performers and the nominees for the show were announced on 24 August. The BTS performed there first live VMA performance debut with their “Dynamite.” The Lady Gaga, alongside Ariana Grande, will sing the “Rain on Me.” 

Moreover, the audience was also treated with Miley Cyrus’s solo performance on “Midnight Sky.” After that, we saw numerous performances of artists including, Bebe Rexha, Bella Hadid, Black Eyed Peas, CNCO, The Weeknd, Drew Barrymore, Jaden Smith, Kelly Clarkson, Machine Gun Kelly, Da Baby, Doja Cat, Maluma, and many more luxurious presenters.

  • Future (featuring Drake) – “Life Is Good”

The winner for this category was announced “The Weekend” for Blinding Lights.

The nominations for the Song of the Year was as follows:

  • Billie Eilish – “Everything I Wanted”
  • Megan Thee Stallion – “Savage”
  • Post Malone – “Circles”
  • Roddy Ricch – “The Box”

The nominations were led on the top by Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande on the song Rain on me.

The leading names for the nomination of the category “Artist of the Year” was as follows:

  • Post Malone
  • The Weeknd

The award was received by Lady Gaga for being the best artist of the year.

The nomination for the “Best group” category:

The BTS received the award for being Best Group after their first-ever live VMA’s performance. The three artists residing in the category of Push Best New Artist was Doja Cat (winner), Lewis Capaldi, and Yungblud.

The nominees for the category “Best Collaboration” goes as follows:

And yet again the top position was given to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for Rain on Me.

  • Halsey – “You Should Be Sad”

Again as expected by everyone, BTS won the award for this category.

The best nominees for Hip Hop category are as follows:
