The team plays in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was later on purchased by a former Canadian professional Hockey player, Mario Lemieux, and an American billionaire businessman, Ronald Burkle. They run the club, and it is still under the ownership of these two.

The penguins had given many outstanding performances in the past. They have a big number of fans and supporters because of the game they put up every time. They competed in Civic Arena and later on became the highest scorers to have won the Presidents’ Trophy.

Stanley Cup Finals:

Pittsburgh also qualified for the Stanley Cup Finals, which they won five times. They were the second to win the most championships after, Edmonton Oilers, and became the first team to win the Stanley Cup back-to-back in 2016 and 2017, in 19 years.

MONTREAL CANADIENS- OLDEST NORTH-AMERICAN ICE HOCKEY TEAM:

Montreal Canadiens are another professional ice Hockey team based in Montreal. The team was created and assembled much earlier than Pittsburgh and many other teams, becoming the oldest team to be playing Hockey.

It was founded in 1909, by John Ambrose O’Brien and made Jack the coach and general manager of the team. Canadiens are by far the best team in the NHL and have won way more Stanley Cups than any other team. Montreal’s won the Stanley Cup 24 times till now, which is estimated to be 25% of the total Stanley Cup Championships.

The team has many fans and was previously called le Club de Hockey Canadien. They also had many French titles that included;

  • La Sainte-Flanelle
  • Les Glorieux
  • Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge
  • Le Tricolore
  • Les Canadiens
  • Le Grand Club
  • Le CH
  • Les Habitants

MONTREAL VS. PITTSBURGH- GAME 4:

The Canadiens and Penguins competed in an Ice Hockey match on Friday and put up a very good show for the audience. Pittsburgh came on too strong at the beginning of the match, but eventually lost their spark and failed to score any points. While the Montreals stayed consistent with their performance and scored 2 against the Penguins, and sealed the victory by 2-0.

ARTTURI LEHKONEN VICTORY SHOT:

Lehkonen, one of the finest players of the Montreal Canadiens, finished off the game by making a tremendous shot by flipping the puck to the Pittsburgh goaltender, Tristan Jarry, with only 4:11 remaining on the timer. Jarry saved around 20 shots.

This fine shot gave them victory over the Penguins by 2-0, on Friday 2020.

PAUL BYRON TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A PITTSBURGH TURNOVER:

Byron made a smart move by taking advantage of a Pittsburgh turnover. He managed to make his way out from the back of the Penguins’ net and passed the puck to Lehkonen in front, who in turn successfully slipped the puck into the open net in front of four Pittsburgh players who had their attention on Byron.

The first score by the Canadiens built a lot of pressure on the Penguins, and the defenceman, Shea Weber took advantage of this situation and managed to score another point into the empty net, in the final minutes of the game.

ARTTURI LEHKONEN VICTORY STATEMENT:

After the glorious victory, the Finnish player spoke to the media saying that ‘they are really happy to win these series and worked very hard to earn this as people were counting us off and winning these series has proved everyone wrong’. He further said that ‘they are ready to celebrate their victory’.

The outstanding goaltender of the Canadiens, Carey Price proved himself by stopping 22 shots slipped by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team is now all set to compete with either Tampa Bay or Philadelphia.

PITTSBURGH CAPTAIN, SIDNEY CROSBY’S STATEMENT:

Crosby looked disappointed in them losing the series and said in his statement, ‘The Canadiens played really well in these series. We worked hard but I guess not hard enough to win the series’. He also said, ‘We will work harder next time and will try to fix our flaws. Meanwhile, we should congratulate the Montreal Canadiens on their brilliant victory!’

Pittsburgh has been one of the teams to win the most Stanley cups but is now losing their charm by not being able to win matches and living up to the expectations of fans. They scored one point, 3-1, in Game 3, but failed to score any more points in the rest of the game. Their poor performance in the series helped the Montreal Canadiens in sealing the victory.

Crosby also gave a praising statement on Carey’s performance saying, ‘He played really well and lived up to everyone’s expectations as always. He was the main reason his team won and our team failed to do the same’.

Jarry, who stopped 20 shots, was the reason why Pittsburgh was still not down by the end of the game 3. Though Jarry failed to give his best due to the problems he had been facing because of the ongoing Pandemic, COVID-19. He still managed to do something for the team but despite his efforts, the team failed to win the game.

CROSBY SHOWS HIS CONFIDENCE IN PITTSBURGH PENGUINS:

The captain of Pittsburgh still has a lot of faith in the team, who is going to compete in the offseason like before. He believes that his team is full of talented players and one defeat does not define the team’s future. They won many Stanley Cups, and the captain believes that they still can and they will work hard to even more championships.

Sullivan said, ‘he’s proud of his team. We didn’t win today but we have a team full of talented and elite players and they have the capability of winning a number of matches in the future’. He further said, ‘the teams will work day and night to live up to the expectations and they will return with their best performance’
