June 4, 2021, is National Donut Day and this Friday the donut shops including Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme will give customers deals to celebrate one of the American favorite confections. In 1938, it was known as “donut lassies” which was established to honor the Salvation Army.
Did you know World War I traces its origins? The Salvation Army volunteers would bring Donuts to the frontlines for troops and helped to prepare during the dire situation of the battlefield.
