Miley Cyrus Revealed How She Felt ‘Villianized For Moving On’ After Split With Liam Hemsworth: ‘That’s Not Acceptable’

Famous singer Miley Cyrus just opened up about how she felt villainized for moving on quickly after her split with the Hollywood actor, Liam Hemsworth. The singer had always been very good at making people talk, whether it’s good or bad and recently they went vocal about her public divorce with long time beau of 10 years. 

Miley’s personal and public life and performances have often sparked controversy and have received widespread media attention. The former Disney star known for her role as “Hannah Montana” got very candid this week.

Her talk with Call Me Daddy podcast:

The “we can’t stop” singer sat down with Call me daddy podcast host Alexandra Cooper and opened up about her relationship status and talked all things dating and sex.

Miley told, 

At first when I got out of my long term relationship and it didn’t work out….it was really traumatizing.”

She further confessed that her perspective has now changed over the years. She said,

Now I’m in a place where I look at it and love it and respect it. The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time of my life.”

She reflected upon her past relationship with Hollywood actor Liam Hemsworth whom she met on the set of their film “The last song” in 2009.

How she felt villainized for moving on:

Following Miley’s divorce with Liam, the 27-year-old singer began spending a lot of time with the Australian singer and friend Cody Simpson. They debuted as a couple and were very public about their relationship.

From getting matting tattoos to filling their social media feed with PDA, they seemed very much in love. Cody said in an interview that, 

Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush. I knew all the words to her songs. I’m not going to lie. I’m not ashamed about it at all. I was a big Miley Cyrus fan. I think she will be forever the most dateable Disney star.”

But what was NOT so amazing is the backlash she faced from the media after moving on so quickly from her past relationship with longtime beau and husband, Liam. She told the Podcast host that,

“I feel like as a woman, I felt like I was villainized for moving on. I really think that’s not acceptable.”

She even went on and talked about how A-list male celebrities much as Johnny Depp who “had gone through women” but never faced any backlash and how they were celebrated for their dating resumes.

Miley talked about her sexuality:

Throughout her career, Miley has been labeled as a sexual person due to her controversial performances and scandals. However, it didn’t really bother the star as she told,

I would’ve much rather the public, as I guess, villainize me for my sexuality. But they tried to make me seem disloyal which is so against my f—king character…my character is my everything, that is my foundation, which I thrive on.”

She also talked about losing her virginity to the hunky Australian actor, “I didn’t go all the way with dude until I was 16.”

Miley confirmed her breakup with Cody Simpson:

After Liam and Miley’s breakup in late 2019, they both moved on with other partners but it was recently reported that Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have split up, only hours before the Call me daddy podcast dropped.

The former Disney star went live on her Instagram profile on August 13 and confirmed the news herself as she said,

Today it came out that I and my boyfriend have broken up. For now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re just individually just working on ourselves, becoming the people that we want to be. Like everybody else at this age. We’re just deciding who we want to be with our lives, what we want to do with our lives.”

Miley went on further by saying,

And, so don’t make it a drama story if next week, we hang out and we’re getting Pizza. We’ve been friends for 10 years. Just don’t make it something that it is not.”

Cody gushed about Miley:

Just two weeks ago, the Australian singer, Cody gushed about how he was in love with Miley by writing in the caption, ‘in love with my best friend’

He even talked about Miley to the Sydney Morning Herald in April that, “Being with Miley is a wonderful thing in my life…she is creative and inspiring, fiercely independent and encourages me to be my won person, too. We are both creative individuals who support one another with our work.”
