The unvarnished details charting the interrogation of Johnny Depp’s marriage to the Hollywood actress and model Amber Heard has once again been laid bare at the British High Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp was accused of being a “wife-beater” in an article by News Group Newspapers, publisher of The Sun, and the newspaper’s executive director, Mr. Dan Wootton which Depp issuing.
The libel case wraps up after a three-week trial at High Court on Tuesday as David Sherborne; Johnny Depp’s lawyer called his ex-wife, Amber a “compulsive liar”. He said that the publisher relied on fake evidence as Ms. Heard is “a complex individual with a complex history.”
He added that “We say from big points even to the smaller ones, Ms. Heard has proven herself to be a wholly reliable witness and, frankly, a compulsive liar- and I don’t say that lightly.” He said that Ms. Heard “blatantly lied” in her evidence and the audio recording also revealed Ms. Amber Heard making a “straightforward, unambiguous, unequivocal admission of hitting.”

Around 30 fans of the actor were gathered at the Royal Courts of Justice as the 57-year-old Hollywood superstar entered the building at which seemed the most high-profile British Libel case in the 21st Century so far.
Heard came as a witness talking about her ex-husband’s alleged abuse saying that it has been a struggle. She made a statement on the courthouse steps before the crowd of onlookers and reporters saying she “preferred to move on with my life” after their divorce back in 2017.
“I did not file this lawsuit and despite its significance, I would have preferred to be her in court. It has been incredibly painful to relive the breakup of my relationship and to have my motives and my truth questioned and the most traumatic and intimate details of my life with Johnny shared in court and broadcast to the entire world.”
“I stand by my testimony and I now place my faith in British justice.”
What is actually the dispute?
The relationship between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber heard began when they first met on the set of the 2011 comedy film “The Rum Diary”. Both tied knots in 2015 but got divorced in 2017. Emails, recording, and text messages attest to the bitter relationship between the two individuals however both disagree on who started and escalated their fights.
Amber Heard claimed that he turned into his violent alter ego who he called “The Monster” adding that he was very much under the influence of alcohol and drugs even showing some text messages where he allegedly ordered drugs from Australia.
Heard alleges 14 separate domestic violence acts in which he hit, slapped, and shoved her, grabbed her hair, and threw bottles at her violently “like grenades.”
Pictures of Heard with bruises and red marks on her face and scalp were shown to the judge as alleged evidence.
Depp called this allegation a “Hoax” but admitted hitting Heard but it was by accident and Amber herself acknowledged of having a short-temper and told that she punched Johnny back in 2015 once but it was just to prevent him from hitting her sister.
The Police Investigation:
During an incident in 2016, Amber claimed that he threw a phone at her which ended up injuring her. The 37-year-old model wrote about the incident by saying, “Johnny rushed back down the stairs and grabbed her phone and started screaming into the phone at Io. That was the moment he wound up his arm back like a baseball pitcher and threw the phone at my face as hard as he could. The phone hit me in the right cheek and eye.”
Depp denied the accusation and also the investigation of the alleged incident; domestic violence specialist Melizza Saenz via Video link on July 10th testified that she saw no marks or injury on Heard’s face according to a court transcript.
On the day of their divorce settlement, Depp texted a Hollywood agent by saying, “She’s begging for total global humiliation…she’s gonna get it. I have no mercy, no fear, and not an ounce of emotion or what I thought was love for this gold-digging, low level, dime a dozen. I’m so ****happy she wants to go to fight this out!!!!”
Sherborne said the actor strongly denied “this reputation-destroying, career-ending” allegations further adding that “He has never hit a woman in his entire life- period, full stop, nada.”
“People will remember this case not for the results, but for the evidence- the rather nasty, gory evidence- that was involved.” Considering neither one is actually the winner.
